Time for another tip! This weeks tip is great for adding some small details that will really help bring your prop to life, and it also just looks really cool!
To start, you’ll need…
First, you’ll need to modify your dremel bit. To do this, loosen the screw on the end of the bit.
This will let you slide the sanding tube off, but we don’t want to do that. You only want to side it about 1/3 to 1/2 the way up.
Now tighten it back up, and place the bit into your dremel. Lay your foam piece down onto a sturdy flat surface. Now slowly and carefully press your dremel into the foam like the picture below.
Make sure not to sand too deep though. Next grab your x-acto knife, and score across the middle (if desired), and hit it with a heat gun. The cut should pop open and give a nice screw head look.
Next just at some paint, and you’re good to go!
Be sure to check back next week for another great tip!
